Karen will work with you to create an individualized tutoring plan for your child.
Karen is a licensed K-12 special education teacher and has been teaching in CT for nearly a decade, in both New Canaan and Avon. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Boston University, then went on to complete her Master’s and Certificate of Advanced Study in Special Education at Fairfield University. During this time, she was also an adjunct professor at the University of Hartford Department of Education teaching Master’s candidates.
Karen specializes in teaching reading, writing, math, and executive functioning skills to students in grades K-8. She has worked extensively with students with varying abilities and disabilities, as well as the general education population. Karen is committed to creating individualized plans for every student, and using multi-sensory, research-based instruction to reach all of her students.
Aside from teaching, Karen is also a mom of 3 and a connected member of the community. She spent several years on the Ridgefield Academy Parent Association (RAPA) supporting their mission, including as the Vice President of RAPA for the Lower School.
All of these factors combined has given Karen a unique educational perspective. She is committed to empowering students to excel academically and thrive in Ridgefield and the surrounding towns - where every student matters.
